The TP SG90 is similar in size, weight and color to the Hitec HS-55. The pictures below show you a comparison chart between the two. Each servo is come with 3 servo horns and 3 screws as shown on the picture.

SG90 Servo Review

Whether you have experience with the SG90 servos or not. It is recommended to read through the reivew below so you can know this product better. This review is based on my own experience with these servos as an RCer.

I used these servos on my Align T-Rex 450S GF as shown in the picture below.



It is equipped with 4 SG90 servos, Telebee Head Lock Gyro and Futaba R617FS Receiver. The heli runs great and the Telebee gyro holds good indoors. Outdoors, the Telebee gyro is easy to be influenced by wind.

Actually I have another T-Rex 450SE V2 which is equipped with 3 Hitec HS-65MG, Futaba GY401 and S9257 on the tail (The most popular configuration for an SE V2). Honestly the HS-65MG runs more smooth than the SG90 servos because they are ball bearing servo. Another difference is that the HS-65MG has all metal gears which will make it has a higher survivability than an SG90.

However it is not always good to have metal gears. As we all know, only the weakest part of an control linkage will break in a crash. According to my experience, it is not recommended for beginners to use metal gear servos because plastic gears usually break in an crash so that other parts in the control link is protected.

So my conclusion is, if the budget for your heli is $1,000 (For example, Trex 450 SE V2 $400; 3x HS-65MG $110; GY401+S9257 $200; R617FS $99), it is recommended to use $40 servos and $200 Gyro system. But if you want to get the best results with the least money, at the price of $3.5 each, these servos absolutely work for you. You can buy 11 SG90 servos with the money for one HS-65MG servo.
