This piece of fabric is from an unused bolt of soft japanese silk that was designed for a kimono.

This silk has a beautiful self woven pattern of cherry blossom trees silhouetted on a black background. It looks like a little black lame has been used in the weave of some of the blossoms to give them a slight shimmer.

There is also a family crest dyed in white that appears occasionally along the edge (about 2cm).

Condition: Brand new but vintage, never used.
