The Butler's Guide: To Clothes Care, Managing the Table, Running the Home, and other graces by Stanley Ager and Fiona St. Aubyn.  Paperback book published by Papermac 1982, 192 pages with some black and white illustrations.  For the man or woman who aspires to true elegance in the home this thorough guide teaches the fine art of housekeeping as carried on in the great houses of England by that rare and remarkable breed - the English butler. Stanley Agee former butler to the second and third Lords St. Levan offers wonderfully old-fashioned tips and techniques for clothes care, managing the table, and running the home, culled from his five decades of service in noble households. The home-care hints Ager imparts are enhanced by innumerable anecdotes and the flavour of his strong personality. Intriguing, entertaining and eminently valuable, they recreate in the home a forgotten lifestyle of aristocratic grace and easy elegance. For the hostess with taste or the bachelor with savoir-faire this book is a must.  This book is in good condition.  The cover is in good condition.  There is some wear to the edges. Corners (some creasing) and to the top and bottom of the spine (bottom of the spine has been bumped).  There is some shelf wear overall as well as some marks and scuffs.  There is some wear to the spine and there is some yellowing overall (more to the spine). The book itself is in very good condition.  There are some marks and wear to the outer edges and corners.  The front endpaper has some creasing.  There is some yellowing of the pages.  Overall a good copy.

Postage costs are Australia Post prices http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/   I do not charge for packaging (as I use recycled packaging), or for handling.  Any questions regarding the item or postage costs please email me before bidding.  All questions are welcome.

At the end of the auction I will send you an invoice with postage this may take a few hours (or minutes) depending on my schedule.  Please do not pay until I have sent you an invoice.

I post up to 5 times a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.   I generally post within 24 hours of receiving payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).

AUSTRALIAN BUYERS (postage within Australia):

Books can be heavy.

0 to 250g   Items under 250g will be posted as a parcel or a large letter depending on size.  This means postage will be between $1.10 and $4.35.

250g to 500g   Postage will be $5.60

500g +  A parcel post satchel (up to 3kg) is $9.90 to anywhere within Australia.  This is the cheapest option for items over 500g or multiple items interstate (usually 3 to 4 books depending on size).  Within Victoria postage is cheaper depending on where you are.  For large items, heavy or multiple items please email me for a price on postage.

Pick up is possible by arrangement.

Books can be heavy. This can mean that postage on a book will be expensive.  Please please please email me before bidding if you have any concerns.  I offer sea mail postage on most items to most destinations where possible (not Italy).  SEA MAIL will take up to 12 WEEKS excluding delays.
