Ceramic Decoration by Lois Culver Long.  Paperback book (booklet) published by The American Art Clay Company 1958, 59 pages with black and white photographs (some are in different tones eg. yellow and black).  The following is from the Foreword:  To the best of our knowledge, this is the first comprehensive booklet devoted solely to the countless materials and methods available for ceramic decoration. In simple, concise terms, we have tried to provide practical basic information on virtually every decorating method. Examples have been carefully selected and described to illustrate good use of each material and method.  The purpose of decoration is to add interest and beauty beyond utilitarian requirements. Simplicity and appropriate relationship of the decoration to the whole form is more important than slavish technique. In ceramic decoration, the possibilities for exploring line, color, and texture relationships are limitless. Each design variation creates a unique pot. Actually each decorative technique utilizes very few materials and tools. Every clay and decorating medium can be used in many ways. Our purpose is to suggest when and how to use them for best results. We have attempted to approach each project differently as a stimulus to original work.  Whether hobbyist or professional, we believe you will find this a handy direction booklet and idea guide when selecting materials and planning ceramic projects.  This book is in fair condition. The cover is in fair condition.  There is wear to the edges (some scuffing) and corners (some bumping).  There is shelf wear overall as well as marks and scuffs.  The back cover has extra marks.  There is some creasing and there is some yellowing.  The book itself is in good condition.  The outer edges have some marks and wear.  There is some yellowing of the pages.  Overall a fair copy, there is some wear.

Postage costs are Australia Post prices http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/   I do not charge for packaging (as I use recycled packaging), or for handling.  Any questions regarding the item or postage costs please email me before bidding.  All questions are welcome.

At the end of the auction I will send you an invoice with postage this may take a few hours (or minutes) depending on my schedule.  Please do not pay until I have sent you an invoice.

I post up to 5 times a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.   I generally post within 24 hours of receiving payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).

AUSTRALIAN BUYERS (postage within Australia):

Books can be heavy.

0 to 250g   Items under 250g will be posted as a parcel or a large letter depending on size.  This means postage will be between $1.10 and $4.35.

250g to 500g   Postage will be $5.60

500g +  A parcel post satchel (up to 3kg) is $9.90 to anywhere within Australia.  This is the cheapest option for items over 500g or multiple items interstate (usually 3 to 4 books depending on size).  Within Victoria postage is cheaper depending on where you are.  For large items, heavy or multiple items please email me for a price on postage.

Pick up is possible by arrangement.

Books can be heavy. This can mean that postage on a book will be expensive.  Please please please email me before bidding if you have any concerns.  I offer sea mail postage on most items to most destinations where possible (not Italy).  SEA MAIL will take up to 12 WEEKS excluding delays.
