Carving Flora and Fables in Wood (Home craftsman series) by E. J. Tanegerman.  Paperback book published by Sterling 1981, 128 pages with black and white photographs and illustrations.  Whether you want to whittle a simple flower or carve a 50-foot heroic statue, whether you're a beginner or an accomplished professional, this is an ideal reference book for your library or studio. Most of the exciting designs are originals selected from Mr. Tangerman's more than 50 years of carving and they are accompanied by over 100 photographs and sketches. Included in the wide variety of subjects you will learn to carve are:

Simple and complex flower panels, including doors

A "portrait" of a pine tree

In-the-round depictions of Atlas, Ulysses, and Hercules

An elf fishing in a lily (see front cover!)

A unicorn

And much, much more

In addition, several chapters, such as the one on carving the world­ famous Little Mermaid (Denmark), feature step-by-step photographs and instruc­tions. And as a bonus for the neophyte, the author has included sections on choosing wood, using and caring for tools, as well as an appendix that describes how to sharpen your tools, choose the size of your piece, and finish it.  Highly informative and fun to read, this delightful little book is a must for the woodcarver, in general, and the carver of foliage and figures of legend, in particular.  This book is in good condition. The cover is in fair condition, there is wear to the edges (some scuffing), corners (minor bumping and creasing) and to the top and bottom of the spine (some bumping).  There is some shelf wear overall as well as scuffs and marks.  There is some yellowing.  The cover is looking worn and aged. The book itself is in very good condition.  There are some marks and wear to the outer edges.  There is some minor wear to the corners. The front endpaper has a name and date written on it.  The pages up to page 25 have a very minor crease to the top edge. There is some minor yellowing of the pages. Overall a good copy.

Postage costs are Australia Post prices http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/   I do not charge for packaging (as I use recycled packaging), or for handling.  Any questions regarding the item or postage costs please email me before bidding.  All questions are welcome.

At the end of the auction I will send you an invoice with postage this may take a few hours (or minutes) depending on my schedule.  Please do not pay until I have sent you an invoice.

I post up to 5 times a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.   I generally post within 24 hours of receiving payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).

Multiple purchases are welcome.

AUSTRALIAN BUYERS (postage within Australia):

Books can be heavy.

0 to 250g   Items under 250g will be posted as a parcel or a large letter depending on size.  This means postage will be between $1.10 and $4.35.

250g to 500g   Postage will be $5.60

500g +  A parcel post satchel (up to 3kg) is $9.90 to anywhere within Australia.  This is the cheapest option for items over 500g or multiple items interstate (usually 3 to 4 books depending on size).  Within Victoria postage is cheaper depending on where you are.  For large items, heavy or multiple items please email me for a price on postage.

Pick up is possible by arrangement.

Books can be heavy. This can mean that postage on a book will be expensive.  Please please please email me before bidding if you have any concerns.  I offer sea mail postage on most items to most destinations where possible (not Italy).  SEA MAIL will take up to 12 WEEKS excluding delays.
