Four lovely and striking 1d RED Kangaroo varieties (1913 Wide Crown Over Wide "A" Watermark). The Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue (Acsc) lists the 'frame break' as 2(B)h ~ "Break in left frame opposite "A" of "AUST" found on the sheet at Position L50 ... that is, the 50th stamp on the Left Pane of Plate B (Upper Right Position ~ Jan-Nov 1913). The postmark is nicely clear of the variety. The "Break in coastline in the Gulf of Carpentaria" is an unlisted variety. This one is very striking and unusual. The "White line through "S" of Australia" is also not listed, however, it is certainly a repeating variety. I have a few of these in my own collection. Each one of them also carries the two distinct 'red islands' East of Tasmania. The 'Coloured mark below the first "N" in "PENNY" is very obvious and easy to see with the naked eye. A stunner really. All four of these would grace that Specialists' variety page.
