ANTIQUE ENGLISH 9K GOLD ENAMEL PHOTO LOCKET c1880 N/R   

An antique English, solid 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) - back and front photo/memento locket or charm; beautifully made, with hand engraved decoration, blue enamel knot design and opening to reveal its glazed locket compartments - easily accessed by a jeweller or handy person.

Both the front and the back panels of this locket are solid gold, the rest is yellow/gilded metal. They were often made in this manner for strength and durability.

High quality, wonderfully wearable - perfect for any chain or charm bracelet!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Some signs of wear commensurate with age and use.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: Locket 24 x 19 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 5.8 grams.
