DRAGON TORTOISE / MONEY TURTLE

The Turtle is regarded as one of the four spiritual animals in China, together with the Phoenix, Dragon and Tiger. The shell of the turtle is believed to have markings of heaven and earth upon it.

In Chinese mythology the Turtle was said to have risen from the deep with the markings of the eight trigrams on its back. These are used in the I Ching and the Bagwa.

The Turtle also symbolises prosperity, abundance, strength, stability, protection and longevity.

Place the turtle facing the North East in 2009.
