This is a captivating and detailed silk
textile from the weavers of Laos. Woven thread by thread on a traditional
wood loom over several days, it features intricate motifs throughout the
piece in red, slate blue, gold and copper on a background of dusty purple. The
combination of colours is mesmerizing and this silk impressively showcases the
talents of the weavers in Laos. The silk ends in fine knotted tassels. A magical quality of this silk is that it reflects
different colours in different lighting and from different angles of view as
evidenced by the photos. It's a beautiful textile that would make an
