 Description Postage and payments

This Avro Lancaster B-1 was flown by the RAF 617 Squadron in 1945.  On March 27, 1945 it attacked the Valentin Nazi Submarine Pens at Farge, Germany.  The 10 ton Grand Slam bomb penetrated the 23' thick concrete roof to damage the pens beyond repair.  The Avro Lancaster B-1 had a max speed of 265 mph and a range of 2250 miles.
