I have here an old small 128-page hardcover book, titled, ‘Motor Racing in Miniature’ written by G. H. Deason and edited by D. A. Russell. Published in 1948 (Revised Edition) by The Roecliffe Publishing Co., for The Drysdale Press.

FOREWORD:

When, three short years ago, Model Race Cars was published for the dance and information of model builders who saw in this new hobby a fresh and stimulating outlet for their creative urge, few people could have foreseen the demand, which has steadily increased for this now familiar publication.

Considerable developments have taken place since those days, and though Model Race Cars remains the only “standard work” on the subject, I feel that, rather than reprint yet another edition of the old favourite, the time 1, ripe to produce a new and more up-to-the-minute volume, which at the same time covers the early ground for the benefit of the beginner.

‘Motor Racing in Miniature’ aims to give a helping hand to those whose ambition is to build and run a car of their own, to show examples of the development work that has been carried out by enthusiasts in many quarters, and to suggest alternative schemes to the would-be model racer, rather than to lay down arbitrary rules as to how they should proceed.

In ‘Motor Racing in Miniature’ I hope that beginner and expert alike will find something to stimulate their interest and encourage them to take an active part in this grand and growing movement.

This wonderful old hardcover book is in fair to good condition for its age, light browning on edges of the book, the title page is loose and unfortunately it doesn’t have a dust jacket. The covers have hints of shelf wear being the odd ding and bump and fading, overall, a great book for any Model Car enthusiasts.
