If you have a DVD or Digital Set Top box that only has scart outputs and would like to take advantage of a quality Component Video connection (To a TV with Component inputs) then this is the cable you need and will also provide stereo Audio.

Directionality
Due to the directional nature of SCART Audio connections this cable will only work with the SCART at the Source end.
So, What's the Difference Between Component and RGB Video?
You may have heard two terms used for these cables either RGB Cables or Component Video Cables. This cable can be used for either.
Component Video can sometimes be mistaken for RGB (because it's connectors are also Red Green and Blue). RGB is most commonly found on devices which have SCART connectors.
The two are infact two separate video formats and are not compatible. This cable will work with both formats but it will not convert one to the other. You just need to make sure that both your source and display equipment are both the same format.
How does this affect me?
Component Video or RGB? this cable will work with either Component or RGB signals. The thing that you need to make sure of, is that your source and display are both working off the same format.
IE if your DVD outputs Component through it's SCART then the TV must take Component. If your source outputs RGB then the TV must take RGB. This cable will not convert RGB to Component.
