Brand New Rotary Shaft Encoder with removable Anti-Backlash Gears!
Up for your bid is a NEW, very high quality, professional optical rotary encoder with a resolution of 1600 Pulses Per Rotation (PPR). This Dynapar brand encoder is made by Danaher Controls, and its model number is HA52516009340. It has A, B and Z (index pulse) outputs, in both true and complementary forms. It's a size 25 encoder (2.5" or 63.5mm), and the shaft diameter is 1/4" (6.35mm).
This encoder is described by the manufacturer as a Heavy Duty, Ultra-Reliable, environmentally sealed encoder with high accuracy and excellent electrical noise immunity. Take a look at their Datasheet Page for this encoder and see its complete specifications and features! This is one of the most impressive quality-built encoders I've seen.
In addition to the encoder, you get a high precision, clever anti-backlash gear mechanism (easily removed if not needed). An anti-backlash mechanism overcomes an inherent inaccuracy problem with gears: there is some freedom of movement between the teeth of gears, so a small movement by one gear is unfelt by the other gear.
Anti-Backlash mechanism: The gear on the encoder is actually made up of two thin gears on the same shaft, with a spring that pushes them at opposite rotation directions against each other. This has the effect of grabbing the gear mashing with them with zero freedom, as the teeth of the special gear-pair try to "fill the space" between the teeth of the mashing gear. This setup can be very easily removed if it is not needed - you can take out the encoder completely by simply removing a few screws.
This encoder is BRAND NEW and UNUSED. It was factory installed in this gear setup assembly, but the assembly itself was never installed in any equipment and so you get a completely pristine item. This is NOT a dusty, worn, removed-from-equipment encoder like some of those found on eBay! It is also cosmetically perfect, the same as you'd get it from the original box.
